Louis Patrick Hill

Senator Louis Patrick Hill was born on the island of Dominica and migrated to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands in 1982. Community service is a duty of all conscientious citizens and it is a responsibility that Senator Hill enthusiastically embraces. He possesses the spirit of an activist who brings passion and honesty to the pursuit of social justice and political and economic empowerment for the masses. Senator Hill credits Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi as two of the strongest influences on the shaping of his spiritual resolve and the development of a personal philosophy of life.

After serving as Administrator of St. Thomas and Water Island for four years, he was elected to the 25th Legislature of the Virgin Islands where he was the Secretary for Intergovernmental and Territorial Affairs and chairman of the Committee on Planning and Environmental Protection. Re-elected in November 2004 to the 26th Legislature, he currently serves as the Chairman for the Committee on Finance, Secretary for Intergovernmental and Territorial Affairs, Vice-Chair for the Committee on Rules and is a member of the Committees on Education, Youth and Cultural Affairs; Housing, Sports and Veterans Affairs, Government Operations and Consumer Protections, and Public Safety, Homeland Security, and Justice.
